Good week including hosting the county ladies Surrey v Hampshire

This week saw the start of the lawn bowls season in ernest with competitions, leagues and friendly matches starting to be played.

Our very 'british' weather has tried to thwart us but has only succeeded in postponing our first 3counties league game, our only player on the green Tuesday evening was a duck!

On Thursday we had the honour of hosting our County ladies match against Hampshire. Club captain Helen Burgess handed the green over and then play commenced. It was a closely fought match where our Surrey ladies stayed focused eventually winning the day; well done ladies. They then retired to the clubhouse for a meal, some drinks and to catch up with friends not seen since last year.
